About Me

Home InspectorI am Chris Odd, a fully Licensed & Certified Home Inspector who provides a high quality home inspection service in Okotoks, Calgary and surrounding towns.

A Home Inspection is a vital part of buying a home. It gives you, the buyer, some assurance of the condition of the home as well as providing useful information on how to maintain your home.

I conduct a thorough visual examination to seek out any defects and deficiencies in the home.  As part of my inspection, I will use a Thermal Imaging Camera which allows me to see temperature variations in the home, which can’t be seen by the naked eye.   This will help me to make an informed assessment with regard to water penetration, or cold spots due to not enough insulation etc.

After the inspection, I will provide a high quality and detailed written report. The Home Inspection Report will include colour photographs, making it easy for you to see and remember any defects that we found. The report will be sent to you electronically within 24 hours. A hard copy can be provided upon request.

Why Have A Home Inspection
Thermal Imaging Technology

Infrared cameras measure thermal energy emitted from an object by finding variations in temperature.

This enables us to detect:
  • Potential internal structural problems
  • Moisture (which can lead to the development of mould)
  • HVAC duct work leaks
  • Displaced and / or missing insulation
  • Plumbing and roof leaks
  • Electrical hot spots that can lead to house fires if not corrected
  • Heat loss and cold air infiltration in walls, ceilings, floors, doors and windows.

An infrared camera allows us to see what our eyes cannot, thus eliminating the potential for any nasty surprises in the future!
